What's In My Mom Summer Bag

What’s In My Summer Mom Bag (A Peek Inside the Chaos & the Must-Haves)

Let’s be real—my summer mom bag is less of a “tote” and more of a rolling survival kit. If Mary Poppins and a Target dollar section had a baby, that would be it.

In this post (and video!), I’m spilling the goldfish crackers and giving you a behind-the-scenes peek at what I actually carry around all summer. Spoiler: it's not just sunscreen and sunglasses.

And if you want to avoid forgetting that one thing that makes or breaks the day (hello, wipes), don’t miss the FREE downloadable Summer Essentials Packing Guide. It's mom-tested, meltdown-approved.

Here’s What I Pack (and Why):

1. Sunscreen (Duh)

Because no one wants their toddler looking like a roasted Peruvian chicken by lunchtime. (Can you tell I'm hungry 🙃).

2. Wipes

Sticky hands? Mysterious goo? Unplanned nature potty break? Wipes are the MVP.

3. Snacks (for them and for me)

There is no “hangry” like summer park hangry. I pack extra—because mom gets snacky too.

4. Change of Clothes

Whether it's splash pad mayhem or a popsicle meltdown, someone’s walking home damp.

5. Toys, Books & Distractions

Because entertainment = peace.

6. My Secret Stash

Every mom needs a secret pouch: chocolate, lip balm, Advil, maybe a tiny bit of dignity.

7. The Wild Cards

Bug spray, a mini fan, bubbles, stickers… you just never know what saves the day.

 Mom Pro Tips:

Pack in pouches so you don’t have to do the deep diaper bag dig at the worst possible moment.

Keep a spare “day out” bag in the trunk—trust me, future you will thank you.

Let older kids pack their own “fun bag”—it gives them autonomy and buys you sanity.
